"Of the five elements, none is always predominant; of the four seasons, none lasts forever; of the days, some are long and some short."
Sun Tzu.
There is time for everything, meet Musa Dala Mamman, M.Sc. ACA. CFA.
A philanthropist, born in Zambuk to his late father, Dala Mamman and mother, Mrs Salamatu Dala. He is married to Rahila Musa with four beautiful children. His wife is a pillar of strength and a God-fearing woman who gives back to society in her own way.
Musa Dala works with the University Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada where he has shown exemplary leadership in his department and the hospital at large. His gradual rise through the ranks in the hospital, in his over fifteen years of service has been somewhat momentous because of the mentor/mentee relationship he has maintained with other great minds in the course of his life.
He holds a Master's degree in Financial Economics from University of Abuja, a degree in Economics from same University. A Chartered Accountant and a Forensic Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. A unifier, a grassroots politician, his humble self, the Idayan Zambuk, Tallafin Yamaltu.
My relationship with Oga Musa started many years back; an elder brother/friend relationship. I've always seen in him good leadership qualities and the ability to plan and prepare for the future. He is decisive, witty and with a high degree of charisma.
About seven(7) years ago I went to see him and we had a talk. We always discussed politics inbetween meals anytime I went visiting.
On this fateful day, sometimes in late September or early October, many worrisome issues were up for discussion but one stood out.
The Elites in our community (now Septuagenarians) were not into active politics and even the few that dabbled are career civil servants and Professionals in their various fields. None has successfully stepped-out to be voted for.
Secondly, there was a wide leadership gap between the elites and the younger generation (Musa's peers, in their late 40's/early 50's now) due to absence of political mentors. It was clear that our community(s) was being somewhat shortchanged politically.
The political calender kept on, time passed by, Governments came and went.
As God will have it, few months ago before the Earth spat out from it's annals a remake of a Pandemic seen before in the beginning of this Century, we had another talk.
His response to a question after careful thought and plenty rice was 'I will step up when the time comes'. I then said something about we wanting a leader that we can follow. I was immensely glad when I left.
His words in other subsequent discussions were,
"My simple ambition is to drive progress, to invest in Education, Agriculture, Sports and Youth development/inclusiveness. To return respect to our traditional societies".
And you will, sir!
Sai an samu kai ake samun mai hula. Kai mai kai ne Tallafin Yamaltu.
May God be with you as you carry out your due diligence in your consultations with family, friends and stakeholders alike.
